Monitoring and assessing electrical loads in a facility requires monitoring equipment. This is non-invasive equipment that can be set up at the service entrance, or throughout the facility at the load centers. Simple Fluke meters will not capture the electrical events which disrupt your loads. A monitoring device must be placed on the line over a period of time to capture nominal voltage, sags, surges, and events that would wear on your equipment.

Once monitoring is complete the system is returned to FGC and our analytics team provides a conversion of the data into a form that is useful to you. Below are examples of some real life events recorded at a customer site.

MONITORING EXAMPLE 1

September 8th 8:13 AM – VERY DAMAGING TO EQUIPMENT Multi Cycle Voltage Sag (25% of 100%)
For 4 cycles continues to draw load on two phases at overcurrent 1000-1500 Amps (200%-300%) – if load operating equipment most certainly damaged.

MONITORING EXAMPLE 2

September 17th 12:44 AM – Voltage Sag (50%) Load Current drops to zero resulting in load loss or this is a planned shutdown event. Voltage sag continues with no load to complete outage lasting until 3:20am (see next graph). Either supply utility eliminated or user breaker interaction.
